Make A Referral

Babes in the Wood is a community baby bank supporting families across East Dunbartonshire and Stirling.

We provide practical support to children from birth to 16 years through a structured referral process. Referrals are accepted from recognised support professionals working directly with families in our catchment areas.

Who Can Refer?

We accept referrals from support workers and recognised agencies assisting families within East Dunbartonshire and Stirling, including:

  • Schools and early years settings

  • Health visitors and midwives

  • Social workers

  • Family support workers

  • Housing officers

  • Third sector organisations

  • Other statutory or voluntary agencies

We do not accept self-referrals.

This ensures support is directed to families most in need and delivered fairly and consistently.

If you have not registered with us before, please call for a brief introduction before submitting your first referral.

We are unable to support families living outwith our designated areas but are happy to signpost you to similar organisations where possible.

Referral Process

Once registered, you may complete the referral form below to request the items required.

Our service is designed to protect client privacy and dignity. Referrals are processed anonymously — we do not require the family’s name or full address.

However, to ensure appropriate and fair support, we do require:

  • The general area the family lives in (e.g. town or postcode district)

  • Child’s age

  • Clothing size

  • Shoe size

  • Details of items required

Requesting the general area allows us to:

  • Confirm the family is within our catchment areas

  • Monitor demand across East Dunbartonshire and Stirling

  • Allocate resources responsibly

All referral information is handled confidentially and in line with our data protection responsibilities. We only request the information necessary to fulfil the referral safely and appropriately.
